Liberatrix is asteroid #125 and was discovered by Prosper-Mathieu Henry from Paris in 1872. Liberatrix’s orbit is characterized by a semi-major axis of 2.74 Astronomical Units, an eccentricity of 0.08, a period of revolution of 1 659 days, and an inclination of 4.7 degrees. Liberatrix is of the type M and has most likely an irregular shape. Liberatrix has a diameter of approximately forty-eight kilometers and rotates around itself once in approximately four hours. Liberatrix is the head of a Hirayama-family, but this is the Hirayama-family, that is usually referred to as the Nemesis Hirayama-family.
The name Liberatrix is meant as a female form of “liberator” because asteroids should have female names and this rule was still strictly observed in 1872. Prussia and France had fought a war in 1870/ 1871. The name Liberatrix is meant to honour the point in history when the Prussian troops returned to Prussia. This somehow was made possible by a French loan. Sane people always want to be free! So Liberatrix in an astrological chart indicates an welcome end of a situation, perhaps in general a happy end.
