Schlecht

Schlecht is asteroid #21613 and also known as 1999 JF68. Schlecht measures approximately 3.2 km in diameter. Schlecht’s orbit is characterized by a semi-major axis of 2.33 Astronomical Units, an eccentricity of 0.21, a period of revolution of 1’297 days, and an inclination of 7.0 degrees. Schlecht was discovered during the course of the Lincoln Near-Earth Asteroid Research (LINEAR) project at the Lincoln Laboratory’s Experimental Test Site (ETS) on the White Sands Missile Range (WSMR) near Socorro, New Mexico, USA.

Schlecht is named after Alissa Raenelle Schlecht, who was born in 1989 and attended Corvallis High School, Corvallis, Montana, USA, when she was awarded second place in the 2006 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (2006 Intel ISEF) for her zoology team project. As usual in the case of Intel ISEF awardees, the person isn’t famous enough for a publicly known biography. So an astrological interpretation for the asteroid Schlecht can only be derived from the name itself. The sequence ‘sch’ is in German what is given as ‘sh’ in English and other languages (respectively their transcriptions), so the sequence ‘sch’ is quite sure hint to a German name or a German word. Schlecht indeed is a German adjective and means bad. So whatever is the situation, person, idea, or feeling in question, an aspect with the asteroid Schlecht adds the connotation that it is a bad situation, person, idea, or feeling. Schlecht hence can be counted as a malefic.
