I’m not finished yet with figuring out whether or not demons can hurt you. Already for the sake of fairness shouldn’t be ignored that you can be hurt while feeling religious ecstasy as well as while fearing demons. Only few people feel ever a religious ecstasy, hence only few people can suffer wounds from that. But some people do and then some of them bleed out of the middle of their palms. Some of these people bleed additionally out of their feet. Such bleeding spots are known as stigmata.
The typical explanation for stigmata is that it is a miracle, which reproduces the wounds of the crucified Jesus Christ. Skeptics and critics say that the source of the stigmata obviously doesn’t know that a crucifixion was done differently because nails through the hands would have led to torn apart hands, but not to a crucifixion. These skeptics and critics are right and this proves indeed that stigmata aren’t a miracle. If you define a miracle as a violation of the laws of nature, then it is impossible that there could ever be any miracle.
The reason why blood flows from hands and sometimes feet of stigmatized people isn’t an attempt to copy the wounds of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. The true reason is that blood thus flows from the acupuncture points láogōng (勞宮) and yŏngquán (湧泉), which are very important points in the human energy system. These points are simply the natural endpoints for psychosomatic manifestations, which are caused in the human energy system and not from any outside force.
I think that it is quite likely that the threefold scratches from demons in truth are also psychosomatic manifestations of some disturbance in the human energy system. Maybe caused by fear, which can be caused by facing demons. If such a wound would be an attempt of an outside force to cause serious damage, why are then always only arm, leg, or back hit and this superficially?
