The Inka city Machu Picchu, which means “old peak” in Quechua, the language of the Inka, is another example of something, which is sometimes said to be impossible to construct without the help of aliens. Of course many cities were built without the help of aliens. But the Inka must have known some techniques, which are unknown to modern western civilization.

The Inka built their cities from boulders, but the Inka had no mortar or cement or any script for planning the construction. This makes the buildings of the Inka special. This makes us wonder how they did that.
But in truth absence of evidence isn’t evidence of absence! Their is neither mortar nor cement in the ruins, so this materials weren’t used. But blueprints of the construction can simply have been destroyed!
You may ask why a folk, if it knows a script, wouldn’t use it. There are examples of this. Ancient Germanic runes were seldomly used for writing. If this hadn’t changed later in Scandinavia with an altered rune alphabet, then we probably wouldn’t understand the runes at all. The ancient Indus valley culture left similar seldom and short inscriptions as the ancient Germans. As a consequence, nobody is able to read the Indus valley inscriptions in spite of the pretensions, which appear every couple of years. Not to write while knowing a script was probably a precautionary measure because ancient cultures never underestimated, but rather overestimated, the power of the written word. Other ancient cultures like the Egyptians, who wrote a lot, also took precautionary measures, which were only different. In case of the Egyptian hieroglyphs, which include many images of animals as characters, were the animals, that were used as characters, shown as cripples. For example a bird would be shown with a broken wing, so that it couldn’t fly. This broke the power of the written words, which could have otherwise become too mighty. The ancient Egyptian wouldn’t have been surprised if a bird hieroglyph would have suddenly obtained life and would have flown away. Who can’t understand this anymore, can of course also not understand why people wouldn’t use a script, that they knew. But it is enough that they themselves understood it. Then we can wonder about astonishing achievements like the construction of Machu Picchu.
