Sawa is asteroid #7677 and also known as 1995 YP3. Sawa was discovered by Kobayashi Takao (小林 隆男) at Ooizumi Observatory. Sawa’s orbit is characterized by a semi-major axis of 2.43 Astronomical Units, an eccentricity of 0.10, a period of revolution of 1 388 days, and an inclination of 2.4 degrees.
Sawa is named after Takeyasu Sawa, who is a professor at the Aichi University of Education (in the English part of the Wikipedia confused to professor of education at Aichi University). The Dictionary of Minor Planet Names further knows that he is a specialist in research on galaxies and astronomy education. Currently he is president of the Society for Teaching and Popularization of Astronomy. The International Astronomical Union knows Takeyasu Sawa as a member. But nothing else seems to be publicly known on him. Not even the correct spelling of his name. Japanese names are usually given twisted in English as well as in other western languages. In this case I also can’t say which one is the family-name because Takeyasu (竹安) as well as Sawa (沢) are possible family-names in Japanese.
Although it looks differently, this only simplifies research! (Except the frustration when finding nothing.) The good news is that Sawa (沢) as a family-name has only one possible spelling in Japanese. It still has some possible meanings. Most likely has sawa (沢) to be translated as moor, marsh, swamp. Also possible are creek or valley.
Sawa is a person name asteroid hinting to people named Sawa. But the asteroid Sawa can also hint to moors or swamps. This can become relevant in astrological charts calculated for answering specific questions for example on agriculture or real estate. So Sawa belongs also to the group of asteroids, that hint to types of landscapes, and this group is a subgroup of the asteroids, that hint to certain items. It’s desirable if future astrological software groups asteroids together this way.
