Junttura

Junttura is asteroid #5073 and also known as 1943 EN. Junttura was discovered by the Finnish astronomer and physicist Yrjö Väisälä at the Turku Observatory (meanwhile Iso-Heikkilä Observatory). Junttura is a member of the asteroid-clan Flora/ Ariadne.

The naming citation for Junttura says that the name embodies the Finnish mentality to get things done, stubbornly and at all costs. The naming citations aren’t a reliable source for words, meanings, or concepts from foreign languages! So I had to double-check the name. I don’t know any people from Finnland, so I don’t know whether they really are this way. The word junttura itself isn’t a common word, even not for dictionaries for Finnish. But an astrological force must have a name, that is understandable at least after some thorough research. Junttura means a large and stocky, stiff-moving, stubborn, bull-headed man or animal.

Junttura represents stubborn persons. Junttura also represents a steadfast attitude and Finnish mentality. Junttura finally should also represent persons from Finnland.
