Akiramizuno is asteroid #8232 and also known as 1997 UW3. Akiramizuno was discovered by the Japanese amateur astronomer Kobayashi Takao (小林 隆男) at the Ooizumi Observatory. Akiramizuno’s orbit is characterized by a semi-major axis of 2.41 Astronomical Units, an eccentricity of 0.15, a period of revolution of 1 370 days, and an inclination of 2.9 degrees. Akiramizuno is a member of the Nysa/ Polana asteroid-complex.
Akiramizuno is named after a professor at the Nagoya University. His name is correctly spelled Mizuno Akira (水野 亮). To find something on him was really difficult. But it is possible, so it has to be considered.
[edit September, 27th, in 2022: here was a picture of Mizuno Akira (水野 亮) or rather a link to it on his university website, but it isn’t available anymore]
The Nagoya University provides its website also in English. Here the part on Mizuno Akira (水野 亮): Nagoya University’s website on Mizuno Akira (水野 亮) in English. He obviously is a physicist. He did study interstellar molecular clouds, but changed to conducting research on the Earth’s own atmosphere because it hinders astronomical observations. His name would be translated as bright/ clear water-fields. His private life doesn’t seem to be known to the public.
I wondered what Akiramizuno would add to Mizuno, hence my interest in Akiramizuno. Finding something on Mizuno Akira (水野 亮) was difficult because it is a common name and Akira has some writing variants, so there were many search results on other people with this or similar names. I think that Akiramizuno doesn’t have to do much with Mizuno’s theme. Akiramizuno instead is representing the many persons with the name Mizuno Akira (水野 亮) or similar names. Akiramizuno furthermore indicates that a problem is recognized and measures aiming to resolve it are begun immediately.
