Brewer

Brewer is asteroid #9468 and also known as 1998 LT2. Brewer was discovered by Eric Walter Elst at the La Silla Observatory. Brewer’s orbit is characterized by a semi-major axis of 2.32 Astronomical Units, an eccentricity of 0.14, a period of revolution of 1 290 days, and an inclination of 10.0 degrees.

Brewer is named after James Brewer, an astronomer at the European Southern Observatory and hence most likely known personally by the discoverer of the asteroid. James Brewer was working on stellar populations and carbon stars. He changed to the British Columbia University around the year 2000, but I find only a Jess Brewer on the university’s website. This anyway can’t be relevant for an asteroid named in 1998. James Brewer seems to be a frequent name and even the name of several famous people. This circumstance makes finding information on a less famous James Brewer impossible. This at least limits the amount of information, which has to be considered.

Brewer is a family-name, which is derived from an occupation. So Brewer represents brewers, the occupation of a brewer, and people named Brewer. As the representative of brewers should Brewer also show some dependency on Ninkasi. So aspects between these two asteroids should always be considered.
