Daphne Plane’s orbit is characterized by a semi-major axis of 2.39 Astronomical Units, an eccentricity of 0.11, a period of revolution of 1 352 days, and an inclination of 13.8 degrees.

Daphne Plane is named after Daphne Plane, who was a librarian at the geology department at the California Institute of Technology for more than twenty-five years. She also was a friend of the discoverer of this asteroid. So the discoverer named the asteroid after a friend, who is named after Daphne from Greek mythology. But Daphne already is the name of an asteroid, so the asteroid #2645 could only be named Daphne too by using the full name Daphne Plane. So this asteroid hints to situations, where you can’t use any abbreviation or shortcut.
