I experienced already that transiting Uranus formed a square with my natal Mars. Uranus makes the most impressive transits, so these are the best for learning lessons on astrology. The square was formed threefold, once with Uranus direct, then with Uranus retrograde, finally with Uranus direct again. Nothing happened while Uranus was direct. When Uranus was retrograde I had a car accident. Two people (including me) hurt, two cars destroyed and it was my fault. I didn’t drive a car then for maybe a year. I walked short distances and used public transportation for long distances. This was only possible because my schedule wasn’t packed during that year.

Uranus square Mars is very reliably indicating an accident. I even knew that before in theory. The accident was also the most impressive to teach me that transits manifest on the material plane during the retrograde phase. A transit without a retrograde phase doesn’t necessarily manifest on the material plane.

Some years later had transiting Uranus formed a trine with my natal Mars. I resumed my martial arts training, which I had neglected since some years because I had really many other things to do. The cause of resuming my martial arts training was the visit of a martial arts master from Toronto in my non-famous hometown. But I was motivated for some months only, then other things were more important again.

I wondered very long why the two incidents were so different and what would happen when transiting Uranus reaches the opposition with my natal Mars. But I’ve understood meanwhile. Mars can rule machines like cars, but Mars is mainly responsible for staying in shape physically. Uranus kicks asses. So Uranus transiting Mars gives unfriendly (square) and friendly (trine) reminders to stay in shape.

So interpreting a transit of Uranus isn’t as difficult as usually said. I think that I understood the lesson best when my natal Mars was affected because my natal Mars is very strong. Maybe you feel Uranus’ effects strongest on your strong natal planets.
