Aditi is asteroid #4401 and also known as 1985 TB. Aditi was discovered by the American astronomer Carolyn Jean Spellmann Shoemaker at the Palomar Observatory. Aditi belongs to the group Amor.
Aditi is named after the Hindu goddess Aditi (अदिति). She is the goddess of the earth and of the sky, of the past and of the future, of unconsciousness, and of fertility. Aditi (अदिति) is the personification of the infinite. Her name is translated as boundless, limitless, or also innocence. Aditi (अदिति) can be seen as a feminized form of Brahmā (ब्रह्मा), so that she can give birth to other deities. Among them are Mitra (मित्र) and Varuṇa (वरुण). Aditi (अदिति) herself belongs to the most ancient deities in Hindu mythology and is the daughter of Asiknī (असिक्नी) and Dakṣa (दक्ष), who are (the “night” and the “dexterous”) agents of creation.
As a goddess of fertility and creation in Hinduism could Aditi (अदिति) have lent her name to a cubewano instead to an asteroid of the group Amor. But she has preferred Amor’s group. So Aditi should astrologically resemble other asteroids of Amor’s group more than those, that are cubewanos. While Neverland represents a lack of unnecessary boundaries, Aditi represents a lack of boundaries between people. Thus people can come too close to each other, but such a lack of boundaries also is a precondition for the formation of mates and couples.
