Varuna

Varuna is an object in the Kuiper Belt and named after a Hindu god. Varuna is the Hindu god of water and the Hindu god of the sky. He was in charge of other things too. Especially Egyptian deities and Hindu deities can have long careers and transformed several times during the process of evolution of the according religions. People in ancient cultures often believed that the sky is filled with water. Hence the transition from a god of water to a god of the sky is quite small. He is somehow both. The peculiar thing about Varuna is that he has thousands of eyes. The stars of the night sky serve as his eyes. Hence he gives some astrologers the feeling that big brother is watching you. Varuna was before also a god of creating and of protecting. Hence Varuna represents intelligence agencies. Some astrologers have decided this intuitively without having to think about it. I’m not an astrologer (this means not professionally), but I thought about it and I think that it fits. Varuna is currently at three and a half degrees of Leo and retrograde. Varuna will turn direct in the middle of April in 2020. Total surveillance is an important part of our current society, so there has to be Varuna in horoscopes. Varuna was discovered in December of the year 2000. His orbital period is expected to be 279.83 yr (102,138 d) and I must add expected because an orbit counts as confirmed when a complete period was watched! It is only fair to assume that the astrological meaning is confirmed too after watching an object’s effects during the same complete period. So everything about the Kuiper Belt Objects must be understood with reservation. Yet it is unlikely that there will change much when an astrological force is as intuitive as Varuna.
