The study I wanted to elaborate on after showing that biological effects are dependent on frequencies recapitulated an effect, which is assumed to be beneficial and comes with an electromagnetic frequency of 40 Hz. But then it went on to describe an effect administered by a flickering light with the frequency of 60 Hz. This was the same effect, demonstrated with rats and mice, as when rats or mice get narcotized with ketamine. This chemical dissolves the synapses of perineuronal networks. These are storing or at least granting access to memories. If synapses of perineuronal networks are removed as can be done by the chemical ketamine or by administering some light flickering at 60 Hz, then memories can be deleted.
Although the researchers appreciate this result because traumas could be treated this way, I’m rather afraid that the discovered methods can be applied for criminal purposes. So I would really prefer if the effects of electromagnetic pollution wouldn’t be real. But they are real as soon as you look at the correct thing, which is the frequency. Although the American electricity grid operating at 60 Hz causes less headaches by flickering lights than the European electricity grid operating at 50 Hz, I regard the American electricity grid operating at 60 Hz as hazardous after this study. But I also can’t be happy about living with a different frequency because more effects of different frequencies can be discovered anytime.
