Armor is asteroid #774 and also known as 1913 TW. Armor was discovered by the French astronomer Charles Le Morvan at Paris and it was the only asteroid, that Charles Le Morvan discovered. Armor’s orbit is characterized by a semi-major axis of 3.04 Astronomical Units, an eccentricity of 0.17, a period of revolution of 1 940 days, and an inclination of 5.6 degrees. Armor is a common Main Belt Asteroid.
Armor sounds like being an opposing force to the asteroid named after a sword. But this is a wrong impression. Armor is named after the region Armorica in the northwest of France.

Armorica is the Latin version of what the Gauls called Aremorica. The region extends between the rivers Seine and Loire and also includes the Brittany peninsula. The Gaulish word Aremorica shall mean “place in front of the sea”. So Armor is a place name asteroid, that hints on the one hand to the northwest of France and on the other hand to coastal regions.
