Pelion

I had mentioned Mount Pelion already because it is the place, where Chiron had his school and where Pholus had his cave. It is also the place, where the Lapith’s wedding took place and where Heracles killed the Centaurs. The asteroid #49036 was named after this place. This asteroid is also known as 1998 QM107 and listed as a centaur. Despite its nature of a centaur, it isn’t named after a Centaur, but after a place. Meanwhile are many mountain ranges named Pelion, so asteroid Pelion is can be counted as an asteroid with mythological name as well as a place name asteroid. The Greek mountain range Pelion had this name very likely already since mythological times, so that the name Pelion is also a connection between history and geography on the one side and mythology on the other side. Nothing special seems to be known about centaur Pelion. So I can only directly proceed to the astrological meaning and relevance. The centaurs are relevant for the interactions between living beings. Pelion gives the feeling or is the ability to give the feeling of being at home. Because Pelion is where all the Centaurs felt at home. Pelion serves also as an example that a place name can be relevant and that a place name can have connections into mythology, from where astrological forces take their relevancy and their meanings.
