Whiterabbit

Whiterabbit is asteroid #17942 and also known as 1999 JG6. Whiterabbit was discovered by the Japanese astronomers Shimizu Yoshisada (清水 義定) and Urata Takeshi (浦田 武) at the observatory in the town Nachi-Katsuura (那智勝浦) in the district Higashimuro (東牟婁) in the prefecture Wakayama (和歌山) in Japan. The name Whiterabbit was suggested by Urata Takeshi (浦田 武). In French is asteroid #17942 nevertheless called Lapinblanc. Whiterabbit belongs to the asteroid-family or rather (as some astronomers call it) asteroid-clan Flora/ Ariadne.

Whiterabbit is named after the White Rabbit, that is a character in Lewis Carroll’s novel Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. When Alice hears the White Rabbit (who is a rabbit and, of course, has pink eyes) talking to itself, she follows it down a huge rabbit-hole under a hedge, and her adventures begin.

This article is a follow-up to my articles on Urata and on Alice. The connections between the astrological forces could make them more verbose. The astrological force Whiterabbit will otherwise only represent white rabbits. The name can’t be too important when it is possible to use a different name in France, but Lapinblanc is only the translation for white rabbit. Hence only the animal itself must be what is important for this astrological force. The beginning of an adventure could be marked, but who gets into such adventures as Alice? Why white rabbits should be so important that they must be represented by an own astrological force is the next question to wonder about. Rabbits are bred since centuries, so it is known that five genes constitute the colour of the rabbit fur. A rabbit is only then completely white, when it is an albino! The pink eyes of White Rabbit are hinting to albinism too. So Whiterabbit can be important for representing albinism or for the role of rabbits in science and medicine (in the latter they are used for producing antibodies and this results always in the death of the rabbit when the antibodies are “harvested”).
