Urata

Urata is asteroid #3722 and also known as 1927 UE. Urata is a Main Belt Asteroid and was discovered by Karl Wilhelm Reinmuth. Urata’s orbit has a period of 1 221 days or 3.34 years, an eccentricity of 0.1994, and an inclination of 6.459° with respect to the ecliptic.

Urata is named after the Japanese astronomer Urata Takeshi (浦田 武). He is the co-discoverer of Minakata, Niijima, Whiteknight, Ojima, and many other asteroids. Urata Takeshi (浦田 武) was after more than fifty years the first amateur astronomer, who again discovered an asteroid. He named this asteroid after his daughter Mizuho. In the ten following years amateur astronomy was popular in Japan and Japanese amateur astronomers discovered 160 minor planets. Urata Takeshi (浦田 武) contributed to several academic journals and became the director of the Minor Planet sSection of the Oriental Astronomical Association.

The name Takeshi (武) would mean warrior. But no astrological force wanted to adopt this name yet. Urata (浦田) is best translated as coastal fields. Ura (浦) means coast or beach or bay.

Urata is of course part of the theme set by Niijima, Ojima, and so on. Urata is showing a good synastry with Mizuho. Urata alone should be able to cause some enthusiasm, but I don’t expect rich harvests from coastal fields and hence also not much success indicated by Urata.
