Vanadis is asteroid #240 and a common Main Belt Asteroid of the type C. Vanadis was discovered by the French astronomer Alphonse Louis Nicolas Borrelly at the Marseille Observatory. Vanadis’ orbit is characterized by a semi-major axis of 2.666 Astronomical Units, an eccentricity of 0.206, a period of revolution of 1 590 days, and an inclination of 2.1 degrees.
Vanadis is named after Vanadís, an epithet of the Norse goddess Freyja. This means Vanadis is actually named after Freyja. The asteroid #76 or Freia is also named after Freyja. Vanadís only emphasizes that Freyja belongs to the vanir or low-gods. The only reason to emphasize this is that Freyja lives among the high-gods or æsir and is treated like she’d be one of them.
Freia is the astrological force, which mythology describes as the Norse goddess Freyja. Vanadis represents instead social climbers. To be a social climber was, until Meghan Markle, never seen as anything bad. At worst it was a privilege of women only. So there seems to be so far no difficulty in the interpretation of this astrological force. I treat it here because of the confusion, which could have occurred because Vanadis is named after the same goddess as Freia.
