Wagner

Wagner is asteroid #3992 and also known as 1987 SA7. Wagner was discovered by the German astronomer Freimut Börngen at the Tautenburg Observatory. Wagner is a member of the Hirayama-family Eos.

Wagner is named after the German composer Richard Wagner, who lived from 1813 until 1883. He composed operas like Die Walküre or Lohengrin. These are so-called romantic operas and connected with each other. Richard Wagner invented the unorthodox style of these operas. His music has been very popular, especially during the first half of the twentieth century and this is an obstacle for his popularity today.

Although Wagner is named after a composer, Wagner still is a German family-name derived from a different profession. The German word Wagner means wainwright. This is somebody, who makes carts and wagons. So this is a profession, which doesn’t exist in industrialized countries anymore.

Until proven otherwise, Wagner is most likely a threefold representative: Wagner represents a certain style of composing music and operas; Wagner also can form a connection between those of Richard Wagner in behalf of the author. Wagner represents people, who make carts or wagons. Finally Wagner represents persons named Wagner.
