Idefix is asteroid #35269 and also known as 1996 QC1. Idefix was discovered by the Czech astronomers Jana Tichá and Miloš Tichý, who are married with each other, at the Kleť Observatory (Hvězdárna Kleť ). Idefix’ orbit is characterized by a semi-major axis of 2.32 Astronomical Units, an eccentricity of 0.14, a period of revolution of 1 290 days, and an inclination of 6.0 degrees.
Idefix got discovered two days after Panoramix (asteroid #35268) in 1996, but was named at the same day as Panoramix in 2010. They both are characters from the Belgian comic book series Les aventures d’Asterix. As already in the cases of Asterix and of Obelix, I quote the official naming citation (of Idefix in this case):
Idefix, also known as Dogmatix, is small white dog belonging to Obelix in the cartoon series Les aventures d’Asterix by Uderzo and Goscinny. Unlike his immense master, Idefix is very tiny, though smart and fearless, and he has an inflammable temperament.

Dogmatix seems to be the English name, the French original and also the German name is Idefix, but in French correctly spelled Idéfix. The name says that Idéfix has ideas, although he is a dog. He only is a cute dog most of the time, but sometimes he saves the day by being a factor, which didn’t appear in the calculations of the enemy. Idéfix is a so popular character that he meanwhile got an own animated series, where he leads a group of animal resistance fighters in Lutetia.
If the asteroids of the Asterix theme, including Panoramix, hint to resistance and resilience, then this should be true for Idefix too. He is less knowledgeable than Panoramix, but also shrewd. Idefix represents being a help because of being underestimated. Idefix could also represent dogs in general or cute, small dogs in particular. Fixed stars and constellations represent dogs, but these rather are hunter dogs. Idefix represents the pet dog or maybe pets in general.
