Kèneke is asteroid #8743 and also known as 1998 EH12. Kèneke was discovered by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst at the La Silla Observatory. Kèneke’s orbit is characterized by a semi-major axis of 3.94 Astronomical Units, an eccentricity of 0.16, a period of revolution of 2 853 days, and an inclination of 16.7 degrees. Kèneke belongs to the group Hilda, that consists of asteroids in a 3:2 orbital resonance with Jupiter.
Kèneke is named after the Flemish expression for a small child. This naming was done in honour of Virginia Margaretha Anna Elst, who was the elder sister of the discoverer, who nevertheless knew her only from her photographs because she had already passed away when he was born. Virginia Margaretha Anna Elst was born in 1930 and died of meningitis in 1935.
The most likely correct astrological interpretations should be obvious here. Kèneke is similar to Ragazza, that shows that a child, for example represented by the asteroid Child, is a girl. Kèneke shows that a child in question is a little child. Kèneke furthermore belongs also to the asteroids of the cause-of-death theme and shows that the end of an incarnation is or was caused by a meningitis.
