Bésixdouze

Bésixdouze is asteroid #46610 and also known as 1993 TQ1. Bésixdouze was discovered by the Japanese amateur astronomers Watanabe Kazurō (渡辺 和郎) and Endate Kin (円館 金) at the Kitami Observatory. Bésixdouze is a non-family asteroid from the Asteroid Main Belt’s background population. Bésixdouze’s orbit is characterized by a semi-major axis of 2.27 Astronomical Units, an eccentricity of 0.18, a period of revolution of 1 249 days, and an inclination of 2.4 degrees.

Bésixdouze is named after the designation of a fictional asteroid. It is the home of The Little Prince from the novella by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. He was a French aristocrat, writer, and aviator. Hence the novella’s original language is French, the original title is Le Petit Prince, and Bésixdouze (bé-six-douze meaning be-six-twelve) is a French way of speaking the designation of the fictional asteroid B612. The name Bésixdouze was chosen for the asteroid #46610 because the number 46610 in decimal writing is the same as the number b612 in hexadecimal writing.

Bésixdouze is another mythological place name, but for a place in space. Bésixdouze could represent a place feeling like home for those, who are stargazers. The common orbit of the asteroid promises an only common perspective. But the most striking point is that Bésixdouze belongs to the asteroids with playful names, playing with the asteroid numbers. This means the same category as Tripaxeptalis or Repunit or Prime. While Tripaxeptalis represents real cryptography and Repunit represents vulgar numerology, Bésixdouze can represent some substantial numerology because it considers the number base. But hexadecimal numbers are most important for coding computer programs, so Bésixdouze represents hexadecimal numbers and coding computer programs. Maybe also computer programs as such.
